EXPEDITION

The Ring Road

An 1,332km journey around Iceland's legendary Route 1. Over 18 days of continuous endurance, we navigate a raw landscape of volcanic deserts, glacial rivers, and coastal fjords on a mix of asphalt and gravel—all to raise scholarships for global education.

JUNE 2026

Ride Together

The Bifröst expedition is more than a cycling challenge; it's a journey connecting our roots with a global mission. We invite anyone—supporters, alumni, and guest riders—to join the journey for a few days or a week. This page is your dashboard to see where we'll be, understand the terrain, and find your place on the road as we raise €240,000 for UWC scholarships.

Safety & Preparation

June Conditions

Iceland in June offers 24-hour daylight, allowing for flexible riding windows but requiring discipline for rest. Temperatures average 10°C, but the wind is your main adversary—it can reach gale force in seconds. Essential services are open, but strategic planning is required for the remote fjords.

Terrain & Elevation

The 1,332km Ring Road varies from smooth asphalt to steep unpaved mountain passes. The Öxi pass (Route 939) is a key challenge with significant elevation gain. Steep coastal stretches and volcanic plateaus require a steady pace and reliable brakes for long descents.
