In Norse mythology, Bifröst is the shimmering rainbow bridge that connects Midgard,the realm of humanity,to Asgard, the realm of the gods. It is a pathway between worlds, a luminous arc that makes the impossible journey possible. For our expedition, Bifröst captures everything we aspire to achieve: we are building bridges between 18 United World Colleges across the globe, connecting diverse cultures, perspectives, and dreams through a single unifying journey around Iceland's Ring Road. Just as the mythological Bifröst required courage to cross and promised transformation for those who dared, our expedition asks participants to step beyond their familiar worlds and experience the profound power of global connection. The name honors Iceland's Norse heritage while embodying our mission—we are not simply cycling a route, we are constructing a bridge of peace, scholarship, and opportunity that will endure long after the expedition ends. Each pedal stroke around Iceland's 1,332-kilometer ring becomes part of the rainbow arc linking students from Mongolia to Costa Rica, from Norway to Swaziland, proving that when we dare to bridge our divides, extraordinary things become possible.
